This practice has been a fixture in Harrisburg for decades. When Dr. Mark Icard retired after a career of caring for this community, Dr. Haddock joined Dr. Strein as a partner, keeping the same building on Highway 49, the same phone number, and the same team patients already know.
What’s new is energy and investment: expanded technology, same-day crowns, and a renewed commitment to the kind of personal, unhurried care that made this office what it is.
Meet Dr. Strein & Dr. Haddock
Dr. Jason C. Strein
Dr. Strein was born outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Harrisburg, NC in 1996. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and completed his D.D.S. at the UNC School of Dentistry as a member of the OKU National Dental Honor Society. He has volunteered with outreach programs including Missions of Mercy clinics, the Student Health Action Coalition, and The Community Free Clinic.
Dr. Strein joined Dr. Mark Icard practicing dentistry here in Harrisburg in 2013, and is proud to be part of the Harrisburg community. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and two dogs.
Dr. Charles L. Haddock
A Charlotte native, Dr. Haddock studied Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and remains a proud Tar Heel fan. He went on to East Carolina University’s School of Dental Medicine, where he was recognized by the Academy of General Dentistry as the Senior Dental Student of the Year. Electing to further his education, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency through ECU, finishing with distinction, with advanced training in complex treatment planning, oral surgery, implant dentistry, endodontics, and esthetic dentistry.
Outside the office, Dr. Haddock and his wife, fellow dentist Dr. Halie Scott, love traveling, gardening, and getting outdoors with their golden retriever, Cooper, and they’re thrilled to be expecting their first daughter this August! He also cheers on the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC, and Manchester United, and enjoys restoring and showing classic cars with his father.
The people who keep things steady
Dana
Dana is a proud mother of three and loves spending time with her family. Outside the office you’ll find her at the beach, creating beautiful custom cookies, or caring for her dog. She’s also a proud Meme to seven grandchildren, family is at the heart of everything she does.
Jackie
Jackie has been a front desk administrator at our practice since moving from West Virginia to North Carolina over 35 years ago. She enjoys travel, the arts, and the great outdoors, especially fishing and boating in the Outer Banks with her husband, Derick, and their husky, Juneau.
Kara
Kara has been a dental hygienist for 27 years, 14 of which have been with this practice. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, and the beach is her happy place!
Laura
Laura has 20 years of dental experience, 10 as a dental assistant before continuing on to dental hygiene at Forsyth Tech. She enjoys time with family, friends, and her two dogs, and doing crafts in her free time.
Angela
Angela graduated with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene from UNC Chapel Hill. Originally from Harrisburg, she has kept smiles healthy in our community for over 25 years and loves educating patients on their oral health. She is married with two daughters, family time is one of her greatest passions.
Jennifer
Jennifer is a dedicated dental assistant with 34 years of experience in compassionate patient care. Outside of work she values time with her husband, sons, and grandson, and has a passion for sewing and repairing sewing machines.
Shelby
Shelby is a proud mom of twin boys who keep life exciting and full of adventure! When she’s not in the office, you’ll find her with her dogs, relaxing at the beach, or working on a sewing project.
Brittany
Born and raised in Concord, NC, Brittany graduated from West Cabarrus High School in 2023 and from the Dental Assisting program at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in 2024. She enjoys hiking and time with friends and family.
Jessica
Jessica is a proud mother of a son and daughter and a graduate of UNC Charlotte. Outside her professional life, she recharges by the water, anywhere there’s sun and sand.
